Second stage of the Damiana Liqueur in preparation for Beltane — the infusion is the colour of honey and smells divine!
Damiana Liqueur Recipe
1 oz damiana in 1 pint good vodka.
Put in canning jar and shake every day for 5 days.
Strain herbs and reserve vodka infusion in jar.
Add herbs to ¾ pint of distilled water.
Put in canning jar and shake every day for 5 days.
Strain water infusion and discard herb.
Gently heat, not boil, and add up to 1 cup of honey.
Blend honey-water and vodka infusions together.
Place in canning jar(s) and allow to sit still for 1 month of aging.
Pour out the liqueur into a new clean bottle and leave the sediment behind.Drink.
