Dick once said, \u201cThe only difference between getting a book shelved in science fiction and one shelved in literature is how many times you use the word fuck.\u201d<\/p>\n<p class=\"MsoNormal\">I guess I\u2019m literature then \ud83d\ude09<\/p>\n<p class=\"MsoNormal\">PKD was talking about how publishers view genre books\u2014fantasy and science fiction\u2014as books for kids. Sadly, this leads many writers to tell stories with simplistic, sometimes childish sensibilities. There\u2019s a place for such books and lots of people seem to enjoy them, though I would argue that many readers simply haven\u2019t been exposed to anything else.<\/p>\n<p class=\"MsoNormal\">I know I\u2019m dying for some adult-perspective genre fiction. That\u2019s why I write it. There\u2019s not much sex in it. The main character is relatively young, fresh out of training, and makes foolish decisions. \u00a0Yes, the action is a bit over the top and the villains a bit \u201cBond.\u201d But <a href=\"http:\/\/www.amazon.com\/Chasing-Wyrm-Christopher-Office-Affairs-ebook\/dp\/B00J0LNGSS\" target=\"_blank\"><em><strong>Chasing the Wyrm<\/strong><\/em><\/a> has a modern, adult, political perspective. The insurgent groups the characters fight are real. The characters understand the failings of their own government and question if what they do actually helps people.
