I\u2019ve had some people asking what the Gutter Bible<\/a><\/i> is, so I am posting the entire introduction again to help clarify.<\/p>\n

Foreword<\/b><\/p>\n

Perhaps the less said
\nabout this book the better. The publishers were tempted to release the tome
\nwithout comment, but the realization that few would understand the volume in
\nand of itself precluded this route. <\/p>\n

For our purposes, the story
\nbegins on June the 21st<\/sup>, of the year 2010, when a small group of
\nmagicians, including Frater Zentra El, wandered the late-night streets of
\nManhattan in a state of deep chemognosis. Upon spotting the book lying in the
\ngutter, he at first mistook it for one of his own magical journals, which are
\nkept in similar composition books. To his surprise, it contained magical wisdom
\nfar deeper than he had previously understood. The discovery that day was in
\nfulfillment of several months of intensive work in the paradigm of H.P.
\nLovecraft and the Mythos; a series of rituals performed to make contact with
\nthe Old Ones.<\/p>\n

Who actually penned the
\nGutter Bible? That remains a mystery to this day. It could simply be the
\nramblings of an escaped mental patient. Perhaps the writer had some magical
\ntraining, perhaps not. It could have been transmitted by a goetic spirit, or
\ndropped through the cracks in reality. Close examinations have determined only
\ntwo things: that it is written in at least three different languages and that
\nthe author probably identified as female. Perhaps a current incarnation of the
\nMad Arab Abdul Alhazred?<\/p>\n

The only certainty is
\nthat the writer, whoever or whatever it may be, touched something beyond most
\npeople\u2019s limited understanding of the universe. Spend just a few minutes
\nexamining the pages and you\u2019ll find yourself in a state of gnosis[1]<\/a>.
\nDeep analysis finds passages of psychological and emotional significance that
\ngo beyond what a \u201cstable\u201d mind can comprehend.<\/p>\n

For this purpose alone,
\nthe Gutter Bible would be worth years of intensive study. Simply using it as a
\nportal to gnosis itself leads to spectacular results. Thankfully, some have
\ndelved deeper.<\/p>\n

Upon retrospect, this
\nScribe cannot believe that when, and where, and most importantly, who, found
\nthe Gutter Bible can be mere chance. This wisdom wanted to be found, and it
\nchose a group of magicians capable of understanding the importance of what they
\nhad received, and the ability to use it.<\/p>\n

After months of study,
\nFrater Zentra El and Soror Panthera, by means of divination and illumination, came
\nto a momentous conclusion-\u2013that what they possessed was a basis for that which
\nhas been sought after by magicians for decades if not centuries. They had found
\na cipher to create a system of pure magick for the modern era.<\/p>\n

Since the dawn of
\ncivilization, when the shaman was usurped by the priest, magick has been polluted
\nby religion and materialism. Since that time, magick has devolved into an
\nintellectual pursuit, with the roadmaps for understanding the underpinnings of
\nreality created by philosophers and viziers.<\/p>\n

They, consciously or
\nsubconsciously, created systems that reinforced their religious and political
\nagendas. Over time, magick became enslaved to Judeo-Christian philosophy in the
\nWest, and Hindu-Taoist philosophy in the East. No matter how revelatory the
\nnature of any system\u2019s basis seemed to be, it still contained the elements of
\nthe theology understood by its founders.[2]<\/a>
\nThe Gutter Bible has the unique advantage of being truly \u201cfound\u201d wisdom that
\nbypasses the filters of previous revelations. <\/p>\n

Although the initial
\nworkings were framed in the context of Lovecraftian magick, the Gutter Bible
\nitself contains none of that pretext. It is not simply a regurgitation of ideas
\nbased on the writings of a New England pulp writer. It is not a collection of
\nill-defined, pop-culture entities overlaid upon previous magical systems. Other
\nthan the basic idea of other dimensional beings that exist hidden between the
\nspaces, what developed as Emergent Magick (EMK), came entirely and directly
\nthrough unique magical ritual. <\/p>\n

The Order of Emergent
\nMagi’s recognition and formation of these properties is perhaps the greatest
\ngift to magick in generations.<\/p>\n

\nMagick<\/b><\/p>\n

What the Order does not do
\nwith the revelation is perhaps more important than what it is creating. We did
\nnot perform an in-depth intellectual analysis of the text. We do not seek
\ntranslation. Nor do we wish to find the writer on the physical plane for
\nfurther clarification. Correspondences are strictly forbidden.<\/p>\n

We realize that the only
\ntrue path to understanding the wisdom contained was through magick itself.
\nEnlisting the aid of Frater Haquan, Soror Panthera, and a variety of magicians
\nthroughout Europe and the United States, the Order plumbed the depths of the
\nGutter Bible using divination, evocation, and invocation. Through their magick
\nthey opened the door to a cosmos both frightening and awe inspiring, and found
\nan entity of purest magick. <\/p>\n

This Scribe encourages
\nyou to do the same: to find a name or a passage in the Gutter Bible and make it
\nthe source for your own magical workings. Don\u2019t try to analyze intellectually
\nwhat you have read before you seek your own revelation in a gnostic state.<\/p>\n

To help facilitate this, we
\ninclude the base methods used by OEM, and a fraction of our own findings. We
\ncall this system Emergent Magick, (EMK), and we seek other proficient,
\nself-realized magicians to join the Order to further develop the practice.<\/p>\n
