In your opinion why do you think so many rhp magicians still hold a negative view of those who prefer the lhp?

Simplistically, the Right Hand Path is about order. It is about unity with the godhead. It is about following a set of instructions handed down, whether you believe they come from hidden masters, or a secret code hidden within creation like Kabbalah or gematria. Order always works a lot better when everybody is following along. Most Right Hand Path/ceremonial magicians/Golden Dawn based magicians follow some form of Christianity, a religion that promotes divine exclusivity and evangelicalism.

Now if you’re saying that those on the Right are more likely to hold a negative view of the Left and not the other way around, I think you’re mistaken. I have seen more than my share of snide, derisive Satanists who constantly moan about how stupid those on the Right are. Granted, the Left isn’t looking for converts nearly as much. Some of that comes from the inherent selfishness of the Left.

I would like to say there is no path, but the truth is nuanced. I think I see people who lean towards one side or the other, but seldom do they commit themselves wholeheartedly to one way. I think that doing so would not be conducive to growth. As a chaos magician, I see commitment to one path over the other as a failing to see the value and usefulness of other systems.

I like the witches who say they are on the Crooked Path. Life encompasses both.

Personally, I always veer towards the course of freedom, so I probably walk a bit to the Left.
