Blake’s etching and last illuminated work, a copy of the classical Laocoön. Some of his personal proverbs are written around it.
The piece is also called “יָהּ[Yah] & his two Sons Satan & Adam” after the writing on the bottom. The Hebrew reads “Angel of Yahweh” and “Lilith” from top to bottom. The Greek is a name, Ophiucus, which means “serpent holder.”
