I’ve just picked up the Crowley Thoth deck from my local occult shop and I am both extremely excited and daunted by the amounts of things I need to learn. There is nothing you NEED to learn than how to read your cards. After that, you will probably develop the rhythm of all of the correspondences, and it will come easier for you when you are drawn to explore them.
