ginandjack:

Since I have some time off this morning, I’ll sit down and crack out one of those posts to which I keep vaguely alluding. What you see here, is the construction and consecration of my new ancestral vessel. While it would be great to have all of my inherited items, photos, symbols, and sacred knick knacks out for a permanent ancestors altar; such is not feasible at this time. So while most of my ancestor alyar things are packed up, I can use Their vessel as a foci for prayers and communion. First, the bottle is a nip of vodka, so the ancestors got vodka in their tea until the bottle was empty. Then, a blend if herbs which I relate to spiritual communication was crafted, while other items which I relate to the dead ir my own ancestors were being collected. When everything was properly gathered and dried (soil, stones from my ancestral homeland, hydrangeas and rock bean leaves, egg shells, and the herb mix along with others) it was time to call upon my ancestors and assemble. And look! I remembered to take pictures!

I used my copper funnel to sift all of my ingredients into the bottle, and declared it a home, and safe space for my direct, blood ancestors only. They are free to cone and go so long as they not hostile, and the vessel also acts as a telephone through which my prayers, petitions, or offerings can be “heard”. After that, the vessel was sealed in wax and ribbon in shades of green and blue. Life over death, just like the living walk atop the dead.

Here is a quick and dirty altar set up at the end, made specifically for offering the ancestors some seasonal greenery and prayers.

Ave Maria a llena de gracia…
