The ’Black Magician’ or Sorcerer is hardly even a distant cousin of the ’Black Brother.’ The difference between a sneak-thief and a Hitler is not too bad an analogy… The Black Brothers are highly advanced adepts of the Art who have simply, as the popular phrase goes, ‘been seduced by the dark side of the Force.’

Dear everyone who re-blogged this, Where the fuck did this come from and why did you post this? You know that a guy who died in 1947 did not make Star Wars references? Right? Is this supposed to be a joke, or did you just not think about it? I really want to know.

sinmadison:

CALL TO THE GOD

Ancient God of the forest deeps,

Master of beast and Sun;

Here where the world is hushed and sleeps

Now that the day is done.

I call You in the ancient way

Here in my circle round,

Asking that You will hear me pray

And send Your Sun force down.

[Invocation – by Scott Cunningham]

I am personally quite convinced that no matter what training or education I might have received, I could never have run a four-minute mile, discovered Gödel’s theorems, composed a Beethoven quartet, or risen to any of other innumerable heights of human achievement. I feel in no way demeaned by these inadequacies. It is quite enough that I am capable, as I think any person of normal endowments probably is, of appreciating and in part understanding what others have accomplished, while making my own personal contributions in whatever measure and manner I am able to do so.
