I think that words like communist and fascist are outdated. They don’t really exist anymore as ideologies. Totalitarian is a good word. Pointing out that they don’t really believe that people should have control over their own lives. The entire gamut of conservative thinking, including libertarians, embraces a false pretext that there are a better class of people, the money makers, and that they should control our lives. They believe that money is somehow a force unto itself that will pick the “best”. This is, of course, lunacy, as it takes little research to show that capital attracts capital, whether wisely controlled or not. What I like to do is get conservatives to admit they don’t believe in democracy. Once you have that, you know where they stand, and you can start a real debate.
