These are good tips, if you have a pair of metal tongs to hold the disk, it’s much easier to light while you hold it. Saves your fingers from being burned by the lighter flame. You can follow these same steps for incense powders, loose herbs, and even to burn small amounts of paper with old spells and stuff!
It’s a good idea to put some sand in the bottom of your dish, though, because even a high proof dish will absorb heat and damage the surface you have it placed on.
