Book of the Dead of Kenna
It has 29 columns in total and is written in cursive hieroglyphs. The spell is written in red and black ink. The reading direction changes three times; From left to right, right to left and back again. Spell 125 from the Book of the Dead in also known as ‘The Judgement’, where the heart of the deceased is weighed against the feather of thruth to see whether the deceased is worthy of the afterlife. In the scene the scale is being held by the god Thoth (god of writing) in the form of a baboon, and the goddess Ma’at (goddess of thruth). Underneath the scale lies the demon that will devour the heart should it prove unworthy of the afterlife. Kenna is seen on the right, holding hands with the god Anubis.
Found in Egypt. New Kingdom, 18th dynasty, 1325 BC.
