Ave Babalon
My altar through the seasons!
I redecorate my home 8 times a year, because as a kind of floopy little Pagan type, I always consider it to be a “holiday season” of some kind. This is just the area of my house that is the “altar”—which is basically an entire wall—but the rest of my home has matching decorations for each season.
I change the dishtowels, the tissue box, the cover on the entryway table, the centerpiece on my table, the garlands in my living room, the scented candles, and some other knickknacks around the house.
Yuletide is the winter solstice, with typically “Christmassy” red and green colors and a yule log, yule tree, and lots of evergreen garlands and poinsettias.
Imbolc is more late winter, so I go for a silvery/snowflake appearance with white, yellow, silver, and gold being my dominant colors.
Ostara is similar in color/symbolism to Easter, so there are lots of pastels, eggs, and gentle fertility symbols.
Beltane is the merry May Day, so I have a maypole and early summer flowers and shiny beads.
Midsummer is of course the summer solstice and I celebrate it with an explosion of summer flowers and lots of wedding symbolism.
Lughnasadh is a late summer/early fall type holiday so you start seeing sunflowers everywhere and the beginnings of harvest symbolism.
Mabon is a harvest celebration when fall is in full swing. I start with the autumn leaves and fall colors.
Samhain lines up with Halloween so you see the black and orange, the squashes/pumpkins, and remembrance symbolism for ancestors and passed-on friends.

Who the fuck says this? Nobody says this. You’re making this shit up. Are you trying to say that it’s racist?
Point one. I don’t believe in a distinction between types of magick. I’m only arguing about the allegations here.
Point two, in Western culture, calling something black to give it negative connotations came WAY before the English started using it to describe race. They called the Indians “black”, who are obviously fucking brown. So ergo calling something black is not designating a racial origin, but assigning a characteristic.
Now stop this silliness.
