When you study a discipline in college, you always get to take the, “about your subject” class. Mine was Comparative Religion. The funniest thing about it, no one can agree on what exactly a religion is. It is about symbols? Is Buddhism a religion? Does it need to have gods? Codes of conduct? Religions seem to share a lot of traits with political ideologies and so-called spiritual philosophy. I’ve had this argument with Thelemites before, trying to convince me it’s not a religion. I’m not sure myself.
