Bees and the products we gather from them have been an essential part of Hellenic faith for longer than we have record. From bees we understand the sacred nature of the gods, of the soul, we gain our mythos, and an ancient companion. It is literally inmpossible to seperate bees from the ancient Hellenic world.In Greek, the word Μέλι or “meli” is trnaslated to honey, and the word Μέλισσα or “Melissa” means honey bee. From the word for “bee” we get the word for priestess, “Melissa” or “melissae”. And that springs directly from the nymphae of bees.
