Let’s start with a premise that I don’t think a lot of Americans are aware of. We have five percent of the world’s population; we have 25 percent of the world’s known prison population. There are only two possibilities here: either we have the most evil people on earth living in the United States, or we are doing something dramatically wrong in terms of how we approach the issue of criminal justice.

Jim Webb, evaluating politics of prison reform, which for conservatives, observes one commentator, probably means privatization, not improvement

Odin

In Norse mythology, Odin is the king Asgard and the god of Wisdom. He sacrificed his eye to drink from the well of wisdom and gained knowledge of past, present, and future events.

With his two brothers, Odin defeated the first giant, Ymir, and fashioned the earth and sky from the frost giant’s body. Also with his brothers, Odin created woman and man.

Odin is the father of important deities such as Thor and Baldr, as well as the adoptive father of Loki.

On the day of Ragnarok, Odin will be killed by the great wolf Fenrir.
