We’re a brain trust of experience.

This studio community is designed to aid its members in creating literary art, editing it, polishing it, and preparing it for presentation to the powers that be in publishing.

Úlfhéðinn (plural Úlfhéðnar) is an Old Norse term for a warrior with attributes parallel to those of a berserker , but with a lupine aspect rather than ursine; both terms refer to a special type of warrior capable of performing feats far beyond the abilities of normal people. Historically, this was attributed to possession by the spirit of an animal. Úlfhéðnar are mentioned in Vatnsdœla saga, Haraldskvæði and the Völsunga saga. The Ulfhednar were said to wear the pelt of a wolf upon their heads when they entered battle, similar to the berserkers use of bear pelts.

Witch God

This is the first piece I have ever created in trance. A sister to the other drawing. The sacred birch tree depicted in the first drawing lent branches to this, which emerge from the paper.  Ink, powder, charcoal, converged under the influence of flying ointment, music and magic. The words scrawled are some belonging to the Orkney Witch’s Charm. It only took an hour, but it felt like only ten minutes. It was an interesting experience.
