There needs to be a serious study done to try to test for objective effects of ceremonial magic, or magical/mystical practices in general.

We already know that it does something on the psychological level; but how, specifically, do these processes work; and what is the objective outcome of these processes? It would go even further, when you consider psychosomatic illness. In such an illness, there is no physical cause. It’s all in your head, but, and that’s a big but, there are very real, objective, physical symptoms. How far can these, purely rational, effects go?

One thing that quantum physics suggests is that consciousness has an effect on reality, at least at the quantum level. As far as I know, we don’t know how far these effects go, and they may not be restricted to the quantum level. Since everything is made up of these tiny particles, effecting them could, theoretically, bring about larger changes in the system as a whole.

Now how much would effecting our entire state of consciousness, our entire lives, in the pursuit of a single goal, effect objective reality? What about thousands, millions people; entire world religions, praying and performing their religions rituals? I imagine it shapes our very reality.

What if life never became conscious and self aware?

I’ve already talked a little bit on here about my magickal persona, kushl0rd. This is the person to whom you converse with most of the time on this blog. M began asking me some interesting questions about kushl0rd, and what makes kushl0rd different from [redacted]. I started listing qualities and…

Very interesting. I certainly feel that i have different parts of myself inside me, apparent in different situations. I have given this some thought but never sat down and tried to define them clearly. I definitely see the parts of myself that may be called the genius and the demon, but the part of myself that is apparent in everyday i would not consider either, maybe a fusion of both? maybe different altogether…

But what am i when i am none of these personae? a few rare times i have been something completely different with no recollection of who i am. then i ‘wake up’ or become aware of myself again and say “what? who am i? what the fuck just happened to me?” and the memories and knowledge of my existence come back to me. 

So, this begs the question… who was i when i was not myself? was that what you would call the Observer? or something else entirely?…

I’ve never really had an experience like that so I couldn’t tell you. I would say any outside personae to the one you adopt would probably be the Observer. The Observer is the omniscent awareness of the other selves.

I just found that my magickal persona and my everyday persona were quite conveniently a bit opposite each other and I tried to apply that understanding Kabbalistically. 

The boundaries between the personality dictated by schema are pretty tough to think about sometimes, so you might see different patterns between your understanding of your magickal self and use a completely different system. I don’t know.
