Rituals Performed: Gnostic Chaosphere, Banishing of the Wind, Adorations of Thoth

And we are back….

In May I was told that I had fulfilled my novice requirements for the IOT and that my journal would no longer be subject to review. So I got lazy. It started with not doing the writing and escalated to skipping daily practice all together. It’s not that I didn’t do any magick, but I only did it when I felt like it, or needed it. Like the creation of the servitor Imgob Bumina, a handy job finding spirit my mentor passed off to me (Hail IMGOB BUMINA!).

Not a good way to build up magical skill, especially for someone like me who has such a long way to go and a horrible history of laziness. But that’s over. I have rededicated myself to daily practice and will start working on some bigger projects, summer distractions be damned.

Started with a Gnostic Chaosphere, it went about as well as to be expected. Some of my vibrations were strong, some not so. I had trouble maintaining visualization of the chaospheres. Things seemed clunky, that feeling of “this is a weird thing to be doing.”

I then sat down for some motionless meditation. Ever since learning about them, I have been wanting to experiment with binaural beats, I’ll let Wikipedia explain what they are. The binaural sounds did not produce any dramatic effects, but there were some noticeable differences. for one, I couldn’t keep track of time. I managed sixteen minutes motionless and it seemed much shorter. Late into the meditation I saw Norse/Celtic style, decorative geometric patterns, colored in magenta, floating before my eyes. It is interesting to note that I got into a heated debate with one of our local Asatru leaders today. He has a hard time seeing Loki’s side of things. 😉

Overall, the binaural beats were very relaxing, giving my meditation a dream like quality. I had the feeling that it’s the type of thing that builds up the more you do it. It probably rewrites neural pathways.

Speaking of dreams, there’s another area I have decided to work on. I have never been good at remembering and consistently recording my dreams. I have a theory that doing more dream work will help me embrace the strange and make my mind less rigid when perceiving magical phenomena. I have started my dream journal again and may share some of that here.

And to help facilitate that dream work and meditation, I am looking into experimenting with some of the few legal ethnogens left. I have ordered some calea zacatechichi, an herb that is supposed to enhance dreams and cause lucid dreaming. I’ll record my discoveries here. Interested parties should take a look at Bouncing Bear Botanicals. I have yet to try their product but they get good reviews and they have fast shipping and a clean website. I know that some blue lotus and amantia muscaria (fly agaric) are in my future as well.

Other than that, it seems Oberbürgermeister von Darmstadt is still doing his job, but slowly. I need to make an exercise servitor too. Some kind of personal trainor.

I need to call up Mr. Clicks again and berate him. He failed in his mission and needs to get straightened out.

Stay tuned for more chaos magick. Further posts will be on my other blog magicalrecord.tumblr.com. As always, I am open to questions about my workings or chaos
