Tarot Review: @scrollofthoth

I’ve been receiving monthly tarot readings from James L. Wilber for the last year, and it’s been a amazing year. James’s readings are most definitely worth it.

James’s three card reading gives you a past-present-future insight on the month in question, which is very useful for monthly planning or for navigating your way effectively through a busy and/or crazy month.

The readings are incredibly accurate. Some months you will receive a reading from James and you will be shocked at how accurately he has described the month ahead. Other times you may not resonate with the reading, and you will most likely be very surprised when the prediction comes to fruition. James’s readings are never fatalistic however, and he always offers good advice to navigate your way effectively through the harder times ahead.

James will also always answer any additional questions you have to clarify the reading.

James also draws a card from the Portals of Chaos, detailing an entity or Spirit who could help you during that month. Although they can be daunting or unfamiliar, if you have a spiritual practice working with these entities can be very rewarding, and often with surprisingly results.

In conclusion I have grown a lot in the last year, much more than I would have without James’s readings. Under his advice I have been encouraged to expand and grow in new directions, to take chances on opportunities and to avoid potential pitfalls as best as possible.

If you are looking for regular divination to aid you in your endeavours and to maximise your potential, then James L. Wilber is your man.

Thanks to @myristicinema for their kind words. You can find out how to get tarot readings at the Scroll of Thoth website. The website says $15 for a three card reading but I have been running a holiday special for my tumblr followers of just $10. Of course, getting readings for a year would be the best value. I am willing to take installment payments (1 payment of $50 now and another $50 within six months), for my monthly tarot reading special.

XVIII- Moonlight

From The Long Century Tarot

Raja Ravi Varma lived from 1848 to 1906, and is celebrated as one of India’s greatest artists. He combined European techniques with Indian sensibilities, but more importantly, he made copies of his paintings as much cheaper lithographs, allowing a wider audience to have access to his work, and high art in general.

The foreground of this card is his painting Ladies in the Moonlight. Like The Moon in traditional decks, these ladies represent dreams and intuition as they gaze into the the unknown. The way their sarees mirror each other makes me think that while they could be friends or lovers or sisters, they could just as easily represent the Self and the Shadow Self. Also this painting is just gorgeous.

(PS- While I have your attention, I’m still looking for suggestions of amazing people who were doing their thing between 1789 and 1914! Also I just noticed there’s a tiny white line at the top– will fix that before printing!)

Tarot tip: collect all the bags

forscryingoutloud:

Even if you don’t aim to be a collector, having a collection of small bags in varying sizes and attributes is going to end up useful if you at all become interested in learning more methods of divination or trying out a few new decks. A lot of decks aren’t sold with a box or bag now and you’ll have to keep those cards bundled up somehow. Maybe you end up using dice to do numerology–a tiny bag will be real handy for that. Collecting casting charms? Bag. Cute new deck of playing cards has a crappy box that’s already falling apart? There’s a bag for that.

So the best thing to do is hang on to every bag you find that can cinch shut, keep cards or charms protected, and look distinct from other bags so you can tell from a glance which one holds which bag. And then you’re going to want to make sure to hang on to certain types of patterns and designs to match certain deck themes or spiritual symbolism. And then you’re just going to be sleeping on a big pile of bags, and it will be awesome. If your bags get out of control always remember that you can fix that by collecting bigger bags.

Great advice. This is how I keep my decks. And to you fellow tabletop RPG fans, a large size dice bag is exactly what you are looking for. I pick up a half dozen every year at GenCon for cheap. So go check out sites that sell products for RPGs or go to etsy and search for “dice bag” if you want to help a small business and get something nice.
