Do you have any resources for obtaining the tools for Thelemic Ritual Magick (i.e. shoppes, spiritual supply stores). There seem to be a fair amount tied to the Golden Dawn, but I haven’t found any worthwhile ones tied to Thelema. Any help would be greatly appreciated. As It Is.

There are many, none that my tiny stoned brain can think of rn but hey, that’s why we have the internet, right?

Drop some etsy/ebay/whatever shops on me and anon here.

What’s up with it tmblr

According to Crowley, aren’t you supposed to craft your own tools?

Yeah, he was all about going as far back into the process as possible. I however don’t have the time, money, or skill to mine silver and steel to forge my weapons. Nor do I have the time to handcraft all of my oils or incenses, let alone screenprint my sick ass Liber Oz shirt. I made my Wand, I made my Stele, etc, because I could and knew how.
Do what works shall be the whole of the plan.

Sadly, I do not have the hook-up for Thelemite tools.

But I will second the notion that sometimes it’s okay to buy. One of the keys is “Know Thyself.” And if you know you just don’t have the skills for a particular project it’s okay to seek a professional. Don’t haggle when you do.

Ave Babalon?

Ave Babalon

FYI, the role of Babalon during the main ritual at the Babalon Rising Festival for the past two years has been portrayed by one of my dear friends, who is queer as fuck and gender fluid, and referred to as Prince Babalon. I believe Babalon always has female aspects but the spirit of Babalon is not constrained by gender roles.

Do not go gentle into that good night,
Old age should burn and rave at close of day;
Rage, rage against the dying of the light.

Though wise men at their end know dark is right,
Because their words had forked no lightning they
Do not go gentle into that good night.

Good men, the last wave by, crying how bright
Their frail deeds might have danced in a green bay,
Rage, rage against the dying of the light.

Wild men who caught and sang the sun in flight,
And learn, too late, they grieved it on its way,
Do not go gentle into that good night.

Grave men, near death, who see with blinding sight
Blind eyes could blaze like meteors and be gay,
Rage, rage against the dying of the light.

And you, my father, there on the sad height,
Curse, bless, me now with your fierce tears, I pray.
Do not go gentle into that good night.
Rage, rage against the dying of the light.

Dylan Thomas,

Do not go gentle into that good night

Watching the slow-motion demise of tumblr, while inherently sad, is also somewhat inspiring. The porn and rage is coming at a furious pace now. Like thousands of voices shouting in the void, I will not go gentle into that goodnight. Me, I’ll be playing with the orchestra while the ship goes down.

Dear Tumblr Occultists (that includes all you pagans, thelemites, ceremonial magicians, satanists, wiccans, witches, et al., except you re-constructionists, you’ll never learn)

As a forty-two year old human being, I feel like I shouldn’t have to do things like this anymore but obviously there’s a need.

Why do you waste your time telling people their interpretation of a symbol/deity/practice is wrong?

Why is it wrong? Because some book told you otherwise? Because a bunch of other people believe differently?

Could it be that what they are expressing is their own personal interpretation of the mystery? Could it be that it is no less valid than anyone else’s?

Have you ever stopped and asked, “why did you interpret it that way?” Maybe they have a good reason.

Maybe the reason you are a shitty magician is that you are unable to grasp the idea that things can have multiple meanings and definitions, sometimes even totally opposite, at the same time.

If someone has a different interpretation of something and can’t justify their reasoning, just move on. Don’t waste your time and look like an asshole trying to tell them the “correct” meaning.

There is no correct meaning.

There is no “is.”

Nothing remains true. All limits change.
