I’m never going to be an Amazon “booster.” I don’t believe that entities formed on the basis of making profit should be lauded. But I am glad that Amazon has given me the ability to handle my intellectual property the way I want.
I have always believed that if you buy any media, you have the right to transform it and enjoy it in any format you want. If you buy a CD and rip the tracks, you should be able to do that. If you buy a movie and want to watch it on your mobile device, you should have that option. If you buy a book and want to read it electronically or in print, you should be able to do that without paying more for it.
