Marvel all magus at the works of Thoth! All words are his domain. The global network of information is his gift. The power of the word is the power of creation. The great scribe has taught us to bind the word and have it do our bidding.

Hail Thoth! His time is nigh.

Hey man. I’ve been looking into magick since I was 14 and never really understood much about the concepts behind the practices. Which books would you say are best for better insight?

Pope Pete should be paying me for promotion 😉

The number one reason I consider myself a chaos magician is because the guys who write chaos magick books actually talk about magick theory in a comprehensive and comprehensible way. So if you are looking for books that will tell you how and why magick works instead of being wrapped up in their own bullshit *cough* Crowley *cough*, you need look no further than…..

Liber Null and Psychonaut by Peter J. Carroll – The foundation of chaos magick. There are a few versions floating around on the web, make sure you get the one that includes the second half of the book.

Oven Ready Chaos by Phil Hine – Downloadable from his website for free. I’m too lazy to find the link right now.

High Magick in Theory and Practice by Frater U.D. – He has good exercises.

And you should start by listening to this: On the Philosophy and Practice of Magick by Peter J. Carroll. Here’s the link to the first part, make sure to catch all three: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Z2pMNS81-hE
