Looking for Astrology Help

I’m almost embarrassed to ask this, but I am looking for good sources (books, web, video, etc), on how to learn astrology from a magical perspective. I just never learned it. Too much math. But I think it’s time I buckle down and at least know the basics.

Attention All Tumblr Witches, Magicians, Occultists, et al

This is Hans Vestberg, CEO of Verizon, and the man
ultimately responsible for destroying this website. It may not have been his
decision, but corporations being the top-down authoritarian institutions that
they are, he gets to say yes or no to any policy. This is the man responsible
for taking away your joy and the happiness of thousands of others. As the CEO
of Verizon he is also responsible for various schemes to end new neutrality and
fuck over poor people in general. He’s a horrible human being who puts profits
over people.

Let’s curse his ass.

Specifically, let’s curse his dick. Seems appropriate since
he’s taking away other people’s outlet for sexual gratification.

On the night of December 16th (midnight on the 17th
in your time zone), since we won’t be hanging out on tumblr, we will be
performing a mass curse/binding on Mr. Vestberg’s ability to feel love and
sexual release.

Feel free to come up with your own ritual according to your
own practice. Share your plans on tumblr, and let others know how to get it
done. Maybe add a curse jar, or burn his picture. Put all your mojo into it.

Your incantation may look something like this:

In the name of
Babalon, Great Harlot and Mother of Abominations, I curse you, Hans Vestberg.

May your penis remain flaccid.

May you be stripped of
all joy.

May those you adore
turn from you in disgust.

May all lips you kiss
taste of ashes.

May your love wither
away and go cold.

May you never find
release from your frustrations.

I beseech all spirits
who call me friend and ally to curse Hans Vestberg. I call all spirits at my
command to destroy his potency and take away his joy.

What you have done to
many, Hans Vestberg, may that return unto you.

Re-blog this! Post it everywhere! Share it with your uncle
that works in the media. Let’s get this fucker.

The Red Goddess

@mikaelthearchangel It’s been a while since I have gotten this question, I used to get people asking all the time. I am always happy to oblige, but it’s a bit difficult to go into using the tumblr reply function, so I decided to do it as a separate post.

First, I absolutely, 100% recommend The Red Goddess by Peter Grey. It is the best complete source on the Red Goddess.

As far as my own personal take. The short form can be found on my original Scroll of Thoth Blog.

There is also the much lengthier Babalon Current in Modern Magick, which you can listen to as a podcast. Or download the text version here.

Also, a search for Babalon (not Babylon) will bring up innumerable sources.

Sorry to just give you a bunch of links. I will probably write more about her someday. But there has been so much ink spilled on Her, that I would really have to come up with some new perspectives.

What is Emergent Animism?

emergentanimism:

As much as I would like to avoid it, I feel I must first
define Emergent Magick (EMK). Especially considering that at this point, there
are maybe about fifty practitioners of EMK on the planet. If you follow my
other blog, Scroll of Thoth, you probably have some idea what it is, but I know
that I have failed to define it with any concision. Part of that is because I
am publishing a book on the subject, which will be released in early 2019. It
really needs an entire book and more to get the concept across. Also because
like any other magical philosophy, it’s slippery, and no matter how skilled I
think I am as a writer, words always fail to encompass it in its entirety. And
you’ve probably figured out by now I’m a wordy son-of-a-bitch, which makes it
doubly hard to do this. I’ll endeavor to make it as short as possible so we can
get on with the real subject at hand.

To learn more about Emergent Magick, follow my other tumblr blog Scroll of Thoth, and sign up for the EMK Facebook group.

EMK defines magick as, “The art of altering consciousness.”
In essence, the universe itself is created and directed by consciousness, and
magick is a way to influence that consciousness. Consciousness itself lacks
universally accepted definition. For our purposes it includes any sufficiently
complex system that can perceive. If you accept that sub-atomic systems are
sufficiently complex, and that quantum theory proves that particles have some
form of perception, this includes everything in the universe to a greater or
lesser degree. Art, the activity of creation, influences consciousness. Ritual
is the art of the magician, and it is specifically designed to alter
consciousness.

A first definition of this complex phenomenon, and perhaps the least hazardous, will be shamanism = technique of ecstasy.

Mircea Eliade, Archaic Techniques of Ecstasy

I will always highly recommend this book, but will make a small point of clarification. I do believe that “ecstasy” may be the wrong word, and maybe this can be chalked up to English not being Professor Eliade’s first language. Because in a modern sense, ecstasy has connotations of pleasure which is not always the case. Many of these techniques involve discomfort and outright pain. From an Asian perspective the word ecstasy may have some validity in that from a certain Taoist  point of view, all experiences can be judged pleasurable in the mind of the participant. But I think what comes closest is the chaos magick definition of “gnosis.” Which is, of course, a borrowed word itself and not entirely synonymous with the original meaning of the word. So English really doesn’t have a good term for what is being described, which in a general sense encompasses all altered states of consciousness.
