I recently had a talk with my local Thelemic guru. He says that the Star Ruby is not a replacement for banishing. It’s more of a marshaling of your magical forces to go out and do your Will. This makes sense to me in the way the ritual is performed and how it “feels.”
I think banishing every day is good for about a month or so. Then, I scale it back. Too much banishing makes me feel like I am washing away too much of my own personality and force.
I say, keep track of your own results. Keep doing what you’re doing until it’s less productive. Then consider changing things up.
